The Battle of Tochar Cruachain-Bri-Ele is a fourteenth century Irish battle fought in 1385, which took place near what is now the village of Croghan, County Offaly.[1] The battle pitted the forces of Uí Failghe, led by Murrough O Conchobhair, and the English forces in Meath. The army of Uí Failghe was victorious. "Nugent of Meath, Chambers and his son, and a countless host of the chiefs and plebeians of the English were slain", according to the Annals of the Four Masters.[2]
